I Was Anti-Obama Before it Was Cool & other bumper stickers that I want on my car

I have never been a fan of B. Obama. So much I want to write about, the true feelings that I have for this despicable person that is the President of America along with his cronies Pelosi and Reid. The bumper stickers are just the tip of the iceberg, but they gave me a laugh, guess that helps.

Now available at Cafepress.com:

Biker's Roadhouse Adventure

Jon has a pretty cool wife who plans fantastic birthdays for him. For Jon's 37th birthday, we traveled North to Logan, Utah. We attended a temple session at the Logan temple, Jon had never been there, I had been there only once before. Jon and I both agreed that it was the "more loud" of all the temples we'd ever been to. Don't get me wrong, temples are very quiet and peaceful places, but it seemed as if most of the people didn't exactly "whisper". lol..... :) After the temple, we went to see The Blind Side at the theater. It was one of the best movies I've seen in a long long time. Sandra Bullock was amazing. She deserved that Academy Award! We got Chillis to go then went over to the Logan Anniversary Inn. The room was HUGE!!!!!! The only thing that could have made our visit more perfect was if it were warm enough to ride Jon's motorcycle out to Logan with our black leather jackets. But it was too cold! I thought the Logan Anniversary Inn was interesting. There was a series of many buildings, one was an apartment building that they fixed up to make different huge themed rooms, and then there were little "houses" that were themed rooms too, I think there might have been like 10-15 different buildings on the premises. The Salt Lake City Anniversay Inn is like a huge hotel. Our room was called the Biker's Roadhouse and had a pool table, pin ball machine, a whole bucket full of different sodas, hotdog machine with all the fixings, cheesecake, mormon champagne, etc. I loved all the different Harley Davidson decorations. It seriously felt as if we were staying over in a Biker dude joint. Jon and I watched The Illusionist too. Thank goodness Gage has such a wonderful Grammy who was willing to have him over for a sleep-over so Mommy and Daddy would have this adventure! If you want to see the room in it's entirety, then watch the movie tour at the end.

Trying to phone Gage :)

This would have been a cool room for a small get together with friends!

They Did Not Doubt

I saw this beautiful piece of artwork for the first time about 5 months ago at a Stake Primary training meeting. It immediately drew me in. I have been obsessed about getting one of my own - someday. The price is about $380 framed at Deseret Book.

They Did Not Doubt by the Artist Joseph Brickey won the Visitors' Choice Award in the 2009 International Art Competition of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In Alma, chapters 56 and 57, we read the story of the 2,000 young men of the people of Ammon who volunteered to fight in the great war between the Nephites and the Lamanites. This is the army of Helaman. Theirs is a story of faith and courage. With no previous experience, but with great faith, they went to war and fought with “miraculous strength” under the leadership of Helaman. They faced the Lamanites in many battles, but not one of them was killed.

In Alma 57:27, Helaman describes the characteristics that set his army apart:
Now this was the faith of these of whom I have spoken; they are young, and their minds are firm, and they do put their trust in God continually.

The young men of the army of Helaman had never fought in war, but they had been well trained in warfare and in matters of faith. Their mothers had taught them that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them. I imagine that these young men had been raised on stories of the great prophets like Nephi. They knew of the power of obedience, and they put their faith in action. Helaman said of them, they are strict to remember the Lord their God from day to day, yea, they do observe to keep his commandments continually, and their faith is strong.

When I talk about this picture, I usually get emotional because it is of a mother and her 2 sons. I am a mother with 2 sons. When I look at this picture, I see myself with my sweet Brock and Gage (my warriors) whom I love dearly. I think that if I had this picture hanging in a prominent spot in my home that it would inspire me to do a little better. To always remember to teach my sons not to doubt, to have faith and courage and to always trust in God continually.

Cure for Rainy Day Cabin Fever

So we were bored (especially Gage) the other day while it was pouring rain outside. Gage was watching Sponge Bob on tv and a Chuck E Cheese commercial came on. Gage then asked if he could go to "Chuck E Cheeses please"? He said it so cute and politely that we couldn't tell him No. I am not sure who had more fun Jon or Gage. We love the Layton Chuck E Cheese, and will never go to any other one. It's newer and more up to date. Gage's take home for time spent there = 8 small bags of Pop Rocks won from all his tickets.

Yummmy cheesy breadsticks - love Jon's expression

New Rooms for Brock and Gage

We decided to get new carpet for the upper 2 levels & stairs of our home. It was extremely stressful to completely empty all rooms upstairs due to the large amount of stuff you randomly accumulate. I got big time stressed out having my kitchen full of stuff. But it was all good in the end. It was a good opportunity to really clean out the boys' rooms and get rid of stuff we didn't need. So instead of carefully moving Brock's old furniture out of his room and down the stairs, we just busted it up and threw it away. He'd had the same bedroom set of furniture ever since he was a baby. Jon and I decided to modernize and repaint his room fit for a pre-teen boy! We also decided that Gage needed a big-boy bed and it was time for his toddler bed to go back into storage. (hopefully to be used again someday sooner than later) So we converted Brock's futon bunkbed into a loft bed by taking the bottom futon frame out, and that became Gage's new bed. We also bought Brock another futon bed frame, entertainment center and dresser, etc. Both boys were extremely pleased with their new rooms fit for their ages. Gotta love change!

Gage so happy to go to sleep up high on his new bed!

Loft beds = more room
